2024 was a year of inspiration as I traveled the world creating my work. Returning to Tokyo, I was reminded of its beauty, freedom, and safety―where fashion thrives, women walk at night without fear, and the streets are clean and vibrant.
Yet, environmental issues in Japan remain overlooked compared to Europe. By repurposing discarded materials, I integrate sustainability into my work. These pieces invite viewers to rediscover Tokyo’s unique charm, blending women into the urban landscape while exploring the coexistence of recycling and city life.
At the same time, this series captures the complex, shifting emotions of young women living in Tokyo. It reflects their inner conflict―caught between the desire to adapt to the fast-paced urban environment and the feeling of never quite belonging. Ambition, frustration, and quiet strength are layered into each piece, forming a subtle portrait of modern womanhood in a city that constantly moves forward.
